Who we are

The L Table is a space where lesbians/queer people can show up as their full selves—no code-switching, no pressure, just real connection. We’re all about good vibes, good food, and even better company. Whether you’re new to town, figuring things out, or just looking for your people, there’s a seat here for you.

We’re building community one dinner, one laugh, and one deep conversation at a time. This isn’t just an event—it’s a space to feel seen, supported, and surrounded by folks who get it.

At The L Table, you don’t just show up—you’re seen, celebrated, and supported.

Pull up a chair—we saved you a seat.

THE FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Oceanonnia Long—Southern-raised, heart-led, and proudly lesbian. For most of my adult life, I’ve craved something more than nightlife or awkward small talk in social media groups. I wanted real connection, intentional space, and a seat at a table where I didn’t have to explain who I was—I could just be. And when I didn’t see that space existing in Charlotte, I decided to create it.

The idea for The L Table came to me during a season of reflection. I was out, but still felt isolated—like I knew a lot of queer women, but didn't know them. I realized we often lack consistent, meaningful spaces to gather, break bread, laugh, and just connect without pretense or pressure. So I thought: what if we met up monthly over a good meal, explored local restaurants, and just talked—about life, love, identity, and everything in between?

That’s how The L Table was born. It’s not just a dinner series—it’s a growing community. A vibe. A safe space for queer women—especially lesbians—to show up fully, build lasting friendships, and be seen in all our beautiful complexity. From Charlotte to pop-ups in other cities, The L Table is about nourishing connection—one plate, one conversation, one experience at a time.

Welcome to the table. You belong here.
